I stumbled across this art piece, 1600 Stacked Chairs via Dornob in Istabul. And after some searching found out it was done by Doris Salcedo which I know as the ‘woman who made the dangerous crack in the Tate Modern’ (supposedly some people fell into the crack! read here). After more research, I found out the ‘crack’ was actually made in Columbia, South America (where she’s from) and shipped over the UK for about £23k. Read about that here.
I love the chairs, I like her other work, but not a big fan of the crack.
Her other works can be viewed here.
